Projekt sa volá Atlas krásy a Mihaela sa snaží ukázať, že každá žena je krásna - nielen zovňajškom, ale aj vo vnútri. Ku každej fotografii preto pridáva vždy aj krátky príbeh.

"Krása pre mňa nemá žiadne hranice. Nemôžete ju definovať vekom, farbou kože ani momentálnymi trendami. Krásu nájdete v zapadnutej chyži, uprostred rušnej ulice New Yorku. Nájdete ju v obyčajnom geste či pohľadu očí," hovorí fotografka, ktorá do sveta vyrazila len s batohom a fotoaparátom. Pozrite sa, akú krásu už na svojich cestách stretla.

I can’t wait to return to Asia in about one month. My first trip there, with The Atlas of Beauty, was more than four years ago. I still remember very well this Tibetan woman who was both exhausted and happy, after a long pilgrimage to Labrang Monastery, one of the most important sites for Tibetan Buddhism.

There's something special about the island of Sardinia, Italy. Sardinians gather often for festivals and parades to present their beautiful outfits, dances and music. I met her in a day of August, during the Feast of the Redeemer in Nuoro. Unlike most of the participants who wear their own costumes, young Frederica never had one, but always dreamed to join a parade. I met them in New York, in February. Abby and Angela are sisters born to an Ethiopian mother and a Nigerian father. Both parents worked for the United Nations so the sisters grew up in six different countries, on three different continents. This gave them a broad perspective and allowed them to see where need was the greatest. After graduation, they both plan to move to Africa and put their knowledge in the service of that amazing continent. Their enthusiasm is inspiring, and Angela’s words express that perfectly. “Among my peers in my age group, I want to start a movement of coming back to the continent. Today is the International Day of the Girl Child. A moment to think about the inequality of our world. There are many places on earth where giving birth to a girl is seen as bad luck. Or places where little girls suffer genital mutilation, they are forced to marry at an early age or don’t have access to education. And sometimes these are not exceptions, but norms. I met this young Yazidi girl from Syria in a refugee camp from the Kurdistan Region in Iraq. Hasa was feeling fortunate that she’s alive and has the chance to study. Unfortunately she lost six of her small cousins when Isis attacked her village in Syria. In many parts of the word life is so cruel and unfair. I just hope the girls and boys of today will make tomorrow the world a better place for everyone. It’s us who have to educate them in this spirit.
